Illinois Thoracic Society
The Illinois Thoracic Society (ITS) is a chapter of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), a professional organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of lung disease in the United States and around the world. The ATS and its state chapters work closely with the American Lung Association to fight lung disease and promote lung health. The two organizations are dedicated to helping all Americans breathe easier.
The Illinois Thoracic Society seeks to offer leadership in pulmonary care in Illinois and to cultivate awareness and education of those in the health care field.
- ITS serves as the medical section of the American Lung Association of Illinois (ALAI) and offers members the opportunity to provide medical input and expertise to guide the Association's programs and activities.
